You’ve worked hard to make your job sites physically safe. But like a growing number of employers, you know that creating a truly healthy workplace doesn’t end there. Mental health, physical fitness, and inclusive and respectful workplaces are among the factors that, in combination, help employees bring their best selves to work every day.

Promoting employee well-being and a healthy workplace culture can be especially challenging in construction, with its often irregular hours and multiple, and sometimes remote, job sites. And many construction workers still fit the “strong silent” profile and may not find it easy to open up about mental wellness-related issues. What doesn’t get talked about, doesn’t get better – which can lead to loss of productivity and sometimes tragic outcomes for individual employees.

Let’s get the conversation started!

We have available free to our Members a Workplace Wellness Program designed to create lasting workplace culture change, with benefits for both employers and employees. Access information on the program by reviewing this PDF. To implement the Workplace Wellness Program, each participating company will designate one, of more if necessary, Wellness Champions, who will dedicate a small number of hours each month to facilitate the program. Here is a PDF outlining the role of the Wellness Champion. The Wellness Champion simply emails wellness@meritmb.com, indicating their desire to enroll, and the process will be initiated.
